and for koorbloh stating they have no bed, well hell, wtf did you buy the dakota? did you not want a big boy truck? was the ram too big for you? well that works both ways, not all people need a full size box and for them the sport trac is a wonderful option.
my bad, I assumed we were talking about the smaller trucks...which is what I own, have owned, and would have liked to continue owning....and this is the dakota forum...

the f-series trucks are much better than their smaller rigs.

I have the full size bed on my dakota because....well....I need to haul motor bikes without putting a wheel on the gate.

frankly, I wanted the big truck, couldn't afford the one I wanted, so I got the closest thing

I believe I said "my next truck", not yours....

sorry for having an opinion, I guess *shrug*

ya'll get a little too defensive...somebody's gf have one of those ford explorer sport-track things?

We should all be able to state our opinions without a personal attack. and you are exactly right, that thing has no bed.

So as of now apparently, they are discontinuing the SportTrac, and there are NO plans to bring the 2012 Ranger to the US market. On this side of the pond, only Brazil will get it. That means it will ship to most of South America and Mexico. US and Canada will be left out for now. Everyone on the other side of the water will get it though.

Ford doesn't want upset the sales of the F150. Which I think is ridiculous since they are discontinuing the Ranger anyways. Those who wanted a Ranger would just buy a Ranger right? Well now they will buy a Tacoma or a Colorado, probably not the F150. We buy small trucks to have small trucks.

I for one got a smaller pickup because I like smaller pickups. Not because I couldn't afford a full size. (I couldn't afford one lol, but that's beside the point.)

They have vids of it water wading here:
http://www.autoblog.com/2011/04/04/v...ranger-pickup/

But it's hard to watch if you really want a US version. There won't be, unless Ford changes their mind.

Personally I would never consider it because I can't stand how that front end looks. I doubt you'll see it in the states anytime soon though. According to that post both of the engines offered are small diesels and it's usually not worth it to get those to pass US emissions regulations.
