Default what do you think, good price?

i have a local mechanic that i still take my old truck to when it has problems, its a reputable shop, one of the good year chains but independently owned i believe.

i asked him how much he would charge me to install all 4 shocks, new strut mounts and a leveling kit and he said it would only be $150

is that a good price?

Ya gotta figure most places nowadays charge somewheres between $75-$100 an hour for labor. Some places as low as $50. So, you're looking at $150 for 2-3 hours of labor. If a pro is doin your leveling kit and knows what he is doing, it should take no more than an hour to do that (unless he runs into issues getting the lower strut bolts off), in doing so replacing the front shocks in a no brainer, and to do the rears maybe 30 mins at best. So, $150 is definitely fair, but its not like he is giving you the deal of the century. Just make sure that his quote is a flat rate, and even if it takes longer it's on him, and not you.

Its a fair price. The lower mounting bolt is going to be stuck on like no other.
You could install the rears by your self and save some cash.

Sounds like a reasonable price. I'm going to find out myself soon as I will have new struts and a leveling kit to install also. Just hope yours is not like Bobby's where it ended up costing him like $400 to install because of that lower mounting bolt.

I would never have work done on my truck with out a fixed price. I haggle like no other. I pretty much tell them up front the possible issues they will have. I tell them this is the price we agreed upon. If you go over its on you, if you go under that price I will still pay the agreed upon price.

It's a good deal but remember that you have to get the Dak aligned after the leveling kit!!
