Default ? for those of you running HID headlights

Did you have to remove the little round reflector thing inside the headlight housing? Do you recommend removing it? How doid you remove it, just break it off?

do not remove it! my friend installs MANY hid's and has a business and he said never to remove it. it reflects the light back onto your headlight (the sliverpart). if you dont have it it plays havok with it. and i think it also has to do with your headlight alightment? (correct me if im wrong here)

Cool. I didnt know it there were clearance issues. The HID bulb looks longer than the stock bulb.

i think you are right saying that they are longer. but im pretty sure they still clear. i dont know if there is any difference in that piece in your headlight or mine. i have a 2010 dakota with the different headlight style. but im sure that that reflective lense doo-hicky is near the same.

Yes if you remove that piece the already bad glare with the HID's will become catastrophic for other drivers.

The one that some daks have and some don't is the parking light, I had to remove mine to install my LED blinkers because they were quite a bit longer.

But for my HIDs I left them in because they cleared fine.

I'm pretty sure for the blinker "hat's" only the 2005 dakotas had them.
LED=no hat, HID=hat

This was how it was before with the hat on the blinker, and the stock bulb
