Angry 2010 acceleration problem!

Hi:

I'm having a serious problem with my 2010, 3.7lts., 29,00o miles.
Most of the time the problem is in traffic, when is time to move, the truck doesn't respond to the accelerator pedal, like been flooded, I quit my feet from the pedal, tray again and then the truck advance (run).
Some times the motor turn off...
I take the truck to the dealer and they doesn't find anything the problem is intermittent, not appear all the times so the mechanics can fix it! supposedly!

What do you think can be?
I replace the spark plugs for Autolite double platinum model APP5224.
I really don't know if this can be the problem but it was the only thing replaced lately.

Victor

Sounds more like a drive by wire issue, or a position sensor (whatever they have in the drive by wire set up). The 4.7 engine loves copper core over the platinum.

Same as Eimer, sounds like a drive by wire issue. You have warranty correct?

Hi:

yes the truck still in warranty, but they don't find anything, because the problem is not present when I take it to the warranty.

What you mean with "drive by wire issue"?

Thanks

Your throttle has no cable connection between the pedal and the throttlebody. It is electronic. There is a sensor in the pedal that controls the throttle body. It may be bad/going bad.

Is your throttle body clean?

If so I would think your accererator pedel sensor is on the fritz.
Take your battery cables off for about 30 minutes tgen try and start the truck with them disconnected. Put the battery cables back on and see if that doesn't help.

I would give this a shot for sure if you haven't already. Disconnecting the battery for longer than 30 minutes or so effectively resets the PCM and TCM's memory. If the problem persists you'll know it wasn't a learned pattern in the computer.

I'm having issues with my drive by wire as well, it won't hold a steady speed at times. Sometimes it likes to surge back and forth like I'm tapping the gas pedal.

Eliminate the simple things like plugs and dirty throttle body. The drive by wires have to keep a clean tb, that is how they idle (unlike the regular throttle cable/iac setups of the older models). The computer leaves a little gap between the blade and the housing, which you will find is plastic.

I keep forgetting...disconnecting the battery for an hour or two always performs miracles with my truck...whenever I have driveability issues...the battery disconnect thing always works...lol try it
