I've made some homebrewed CAI's in the past. I mean no disrespect to anyone who has made their own, but... If you don't have a way to isolate the filter from the engine compartment, like the sheet metal shield K&N includes, you don't have a Cold Air Intake. You have a Warm Air Intake. A large portion of the benefit of a CAI is reducing the temperature of the intake air.

I bought one of the Dual ones like a T, POS hit the hood so I never even put it on for more then a half hour.

Looks just like mine, I just emailed the seller on ebay and they shipped me a longer End pipe (longer before the bend) for free, Fits great now.

I got the same eBay one and truck sounds way better, and looks pretty good to. I will be building a bow to isolate the filter so it is a true cold air intake soon being a tin basher it should be easy.

In a cold winter is the cold air bad for the motor, or is that s wise tale.

i got a cheap 75$ one off ebay, only thing that sucks about it is that it runs a little warmer due to no box around it and the air hole in the fender. also the piece of metal that holds it stable is crappy and snapped on me after a few months..need to find some durable bendy metal so i can make a new one..anyone got ideas?

I don't use the mount on mine. It just rests on the heater hoses in the middle and filter rests on the fender well. It has come loose only one time during the frist heat cycle.
