After I get my body lift installed and buy larger tires I know I will be switching to SCT.

SCT doesnt support transmission tuning. You can tune the TM, but no shift points. Ill keep my Superchips for this reason.

Yeah. Hp gains are not they much greater than superchips, all things being equal. I love my shift schedule too much.

I've been saying this for years, lol.

SCT and Diablo do not show our trucks on the supported list. To use either SCT or Diablo you have to go through a custom tuner that can load your vehicle specific parameters into the tuner.

05-07 use SCT with custom tune.
08+ use Diablo. Hemifever did say a lot of the 08+ 4.7L Ram crowd have not been happy with the Diablo tunes.

Red face

"I'll increase your speed limiter and reduce/remove tq mgmt where applicable. I change the timing and fuel curve"

Will this actually help HP and takeoff, as far as drag racing?

Yes and no. Once you break traction, power means nothing. However, this truck can put a noticeably higher amount of power down than what torque management allows, especially after initial launch. That said, this isn't the vehicle for a drag racing enthusiast. A regular cab from '97-'04 is a far better platform to build from. Much lighter, bigger aftermarket, and less expensive to mod.

This will make the truck more responsive and fun to drive overall, but it won't make it a 12 second ride.

I'm thinking about solving my 3.7L tuner woes by going diesel, and a stick, so that I can make my own "shift schedule." lol

12sec is to fast. Anything faster than 14, you need a helmet. I got into this AFTER I bought the truck. I heat up my drag radials b4 launch. BTW, right now its a 17.5sec truck !
