Default forced air/ Ram-air????

As most of u know I put in a dual CAI on my 06 4.7L trx4. I am thinking about removing my fogs and putting the end (screen capped) of a intake hose from each side and basically running the other end into the engine compartment.

My main question is, would I be better off buying 2 small air boxes and running k&n filters in the boxes and connecting its directly to my y-pipe intake or just running the hoses right up against the cone filters?

Just a thought, not really sure how to go about it.

just cut two holes in the hood and buy an elbow, point the filters out of the hood and make 2 cardboard hood scoops...

I suppose it would function, but you won't really see any performance gains. At 100 MPH you might see 0.25 PSI gain. Not worth the trouble for tearing up your engine compartment, not to mention creating a great way to get water in the intake.

This is what I did:

As long as you dont seal the ram air to your intake, you dont have to worry about water. Worst case senario, you will steam clean your pistons a little.

I think the amount of work required, plus losing your foglights is not worth the small gains from doing what you are proposing.

if you want a cooler intake charge, just get methanol injection.

50:50 alchohol and water mixture. They sell kits specifically meant for N/A setups. And with mixing with water, its technically not flammable so its not like youll blow yourself up.
