Default Silly question...

This may sound silly, and please don't laugh me off this board... However, do newer model vehicles have something in them to keep them from taking off super fast? I have the 4.7 in my Dak, and you would think it would throw you back pretty good... Yet, it takes off pretty skiddish. However, there are times that if you hit the gas just right, let off it, then hit it again, the truck fires out.

My first vehicle was a 89 S10 with the 4.3 v6 in it, and in that thing, you put the gas to the floor and it jetted out, no power braking or anything. I have also noticed it in my mother in laws 04 Hemi Ram, and my father in laws 07 Sierra... all powerful trucks, but just act like there is something dampening the power when you put the petal to the metal.

The rev limiter will prevent this, try again!

The computer (more specifically how it is programmed) is why it does not launch.

You can fix it (or make it better) with a programmer!

Good to know I'm not crazy! Like I said my first truck was that S10 I bought at sixteen... Drove it about a year then someone hit me and totalled it out, but it would straight get it. My next was a brand new (at the time) 2001 S10, which I got the mighty 2.2 vortec 4 banger in to save gas going back and forth to college. So when I sat in my Dakota the first time I was sooo excited with it having a 4.7L V8 Magnum. I floored it and was sorely let down. Have been wondering that for the last 3 and a half years. So a programmer is the cure, add another thing to the ever growing list.
