Talking Mods are so addictive!

Ok, bored on saturday night and thinking ahead...
1. After I get Hemifever to write the tunes for my truck, I think I want to do a hood scoop. Anyone on here ever bought a used hood from a u pull and pay/save yard? If so, about how much did it run you? Last time I checked no one had one locally for a 2005.

2. What years are the same body style/fit as far as hood as the '05? (2005 3.7L extended cab 4x4.)

3. Where can I find a functional scoop without breaking the bank?

All Dakota R/T hood scoops from 2005 to 2007 will fit, good luck finding one!

When you do, expect to pay through the nose for it

You will need to modify it to make it functional as they are only "for looks" from the factory.

The other option would be to go the route as jkeaton did with an aftermarket one.

Are you talking about a regular hood and making/buying a scoop or are you looking for an r/t hood?

Yeah, i would love an R/T hood on mine, but the price would be outrageous. They didn't make that many R/T's. And it might look weird since i only have a v6

I guess the cheaper route. I would like to buy another Dak hood (used). That way if I F**k it up cutting it for an after market functional scoop, I wouldnt cry, because I scarred my baby> LOL.
