I had blue in my overheads but a cop buddy of mine said I could get pulled for them so I took them out and replaced with bright white LED's. Left the blue under the dash though.

As far as I knew it had to be a exterior light that is blue... I have not had any problems. I had blue 194 Corner Marker lights and license plate light in my old 2k for awhile with no problems lol

I found a place that sells the LED I put in my truck and my mothers Corolla (6 led ones) cheap.
Seller also has WHITE ones to. They are 42mm Festoon 8 LED Tube ones.
My 05 Club Cab ST has these in all 3 Spots, Both Maps and the Rear.
You can also get 168/194 Bulbs for your license plate.

Blue 8 LED 42mm Festoon : $0.99

White 8 LED 42mm Festoon : $0.99

Just found them today, Cheap figured others would like to know. When I got mine I bought a few extra to make sure down the road I had them.

in NC it is the law. No blue or red lights inside or out (except the obvious taillights) unless it is an emergency vehicle or cop car.

Just picked up one of these for the dome light in the backseat (quad cab) to match my LED's up front. Good deal @ $2.99

Superbrightleds.com has a good selection
They also have a thing that lets you put your vehicle info and it'll get you the bulbs that work you just have to verify

The ones that always get me is the stupid festoon bulbs...there are too many sizes and they never can tell me which size we have, rear dome.

the next person who says festoon...
jk

so I'm thinking of making some prototype maps, domes, and underdash lighting that will have 7 color options. If there's a big interest i may start sooner rather that later to make a prototype of each.

Underdash will be easy, for the maps and dome I was thinking of attaching micro LEDs on the insides of the clear plastic covers, with a wire and bulb end to plug in.
