545RFE Questions on how it should shift.
So I have the Superchips 3865 with the trans tunning. I've read that when the truck is cold, she will shift according to the stock shift pattern. After I romped on her for a while with the Superchips trans tunning, and I start driving normal again, if I accelerate normally at around 30-40 mph the trans will shift up and down a couple of times until I get past 40mph. I just put the stock trans tune (boring) with the 87 octane this morning. I don't know if this is normal, but when driving around the same speed 30-40 under light acceleration the truck gently downshifts before going into the next gear. Is that normal?
I guessing I might need a fluid exchange but the truck only has 43,000 right now. I've only towed once, so I don't think that is it. I just know these transmissions are pickey. I have a trans cooler that I want to install, but I just moved into an apartment so I would need to find a reputable shop to install the cooler and do a low pressure flush. Anyone know of anyone in the Tampa area?
Has anyone heard of the shifting issues I have? Is Aamco a decent place to get a service done? Can someone provide me with a link to purchase the filters for a 2006 Raider 4x4?
Thanks in advance!

Yea I was planning on either brininging the filters in, or ensuring they use OEM ones.
I've heard these transmissions can get pickey if you don't change the fluid and filters often. I think I'm going to head by Aamco after work and get a quote from them. I also know I supposed to request a low pressure fluid exchange as opposed to using the machine.

I just put on a PML trans pan. All aliminum with fins, and it holds more fluid as well. Ive noticed that my truck shifts funny to. I dont have a tuner on my set up though. When in tow haul mode, what is the tranny doing? Once I hit 30 mph it seems like it goes into 4th gear really early, even when pulling a load. The rpm drops down to 1500. With tow haul mode off I dont get a rpm drop until 40-45mph, 5th gear being the OD i guess.

tow/haul just keeps it out of top gear. for me od/0ff = 3rd if anything it should prevent it from shifting more.
when im on the highway before i pass someone i click od/off so it downshifts to 3rd then i go WOT and depending on speed it will go to 2nd prime or keep in 3rd. the 4-2prim double downshift kills the 45rfe so i prevent it by shifting myself.

I read on here once that the dealer (via starscan) can change the button from od on/off to tow/haul and vice-versa...but for a cost (obviously)...so not sure what each mode does....I know on mine, it makes the trans do funky ****, so I never use it...I've had other makes (furd, shivy) where the tow/haul actually does something positive, but not on my truck...i'd like to know if others have different experiences...
