Default Dual Exhausts

I'm looking at installing a full dual exhaust - no "Y" going to a single pipe & muffler and then separating into 2 pipes. I 'm considering cutting off the Y section from the 2 cats, adding a couple of elbows pointing towards the back and then bringing the 2 pipes to the rear (not sure about whether I'll go with or without mufflers, but definitely without both resonators). Has anyone done this? It seems relatively simple from the surface, are there any issues I may be missing?

Blown287 has, look at his youtube videos under Blown287. There's not much room for two mufflers so you might want to look into a Dual in-Dual out single muffler.

True duals.

I don't see why not, just make sure you have room to route the piping throught the drivers side of the truck ( you will probably have to go under the rear wheel axle)

I have no muffler or cats right now and the truck its WAY loud so you might want to consider a muffler.

Here is a video of what she sounds like:

lol its definitely too loud. When I'm done with everything I will hook up a muffler but it's definitely no priority right now.

I don't see a reason to install a common coupling such as an X - I don't think the 4.7 cares whether it has the additional backpressure or not. I can see the manufacturer joining both manifold outputs into one pipe to save costs, and I can see making the twin cat assembly - you're almost always selling 2 cats even when the customer only needs one.

Cool. I'm wanting to run true duals myself and want to do it right. No crossover then.

You need some kind of connection between the 2 pipes, wether is an X pipe, H pipe or a dual in/dual out muffler that has an X built into it. The reason for this is to equalize the pressure between the left and right sides of the engine. If you dont do this then you actually will loose power.
