Well seeing how he has fixed his light problem. I too have an issue, and I didn't wanna have to start a new thread. (If I have to I will) I was driving home in the rain last night and pulled into a gas station (unfortunately a BP), and I put in 50 bucks from a quarter of a tank. It filled me up, but right when I started her up, I got the check engine light. I thought it might be the gas cap, So I tightened it but the light was still on. Any ideas? or just bring it to autozone.
Thanks

The PCM will reset some DTCs after a certain number of starts, assuming that the problem has been fixed and the DTC not manually reset (via code reader or battery disconnect). I'm not sure which Dodge DTCs fall into this bracket, but they're usually ones that aren't critical.

Thanks for the useful information. I will pretty much do anything to avoid the stealership.

Interesting anecdote for this old thread... most auto parts stores will not clear your codes for you anymore. They will read them for free still, but not clear them, due to liability issues.

Yeah, the erase button is right there when they look up the codes. I've found that for a small tip they don't mind hitting that button.

Yep, too many people deleting codes right before selling a vehicle

I just ask to use it and offer my drivers license as collateral.
