Default Not enjoying large puddles..

I'm assuming others have this problem as well but when I "accidentally" roll through a large puddle after heavy rain/flooding the water travels right up into my belt and interferes with the trucks power steering. So I lose power steering for up to 10 seconds and then will hear the belt or pulley squeal and it comes back again. I understand why this happens and I'm sure other vehicles have this problem but has anybody built or atleast thought about building a custom undercarriage cover? Not an annoying one, just one that will cover the front of the engine. It would have to be easily removable to access the oil filter. All cars these days, especially the European ones, have plastic cover(s) and although they are a pain in the *** while working on them it helps when driving through severe weather.

happens to the best of us. mine does it all the time. soon to be solved but a completely new bumper and skid plates. but im sure even just some simple cheap cover could be slapped together to divert water around the pulleys.

Lucky cheeseburger! Hmmm..I knew Projekt Dirt would comment on this thread (:any pricing estimates out on this bumper yet or pictures? Could skid plates be purchased separately? I know something could be made with plastic easily but I feel as if whatever I fab up may look a little unprofessional haha

We're going to aim to be 50-100 cheaper than your average tube bumper that Dixon bros sells for example. Still fiddling around with a couple designs that feature different bends. Hoping to get a jump on actually bending some tube this weekend. Last weekend was the Henderson 250 race so we were busy

I have had the truck in water 1/4 way up the doors (even deeper but that's a different story and problem) and have had water/mud come out my grill and under my headlight and have never had this problem. I wonder if it is a 4.7L thing

Same here, Gatorback belt, I plow through high water all the time. Only issue I deal with is hydroplaning.

Thanks guys. I was thinking that upgrading to the Gatorback would help my issue. The Mopar belt looks like crap even though the belt is in good condition still. Not sure if I still have the link to the Gatorback belt..anyone got one? It usually happens at unimportant times but lastnight it happened in the middle of a left turn..Nick what kind of belt is on your 3.7L?
