Based off this new information I think my next Dakota will be an 06. I will try and find an 06 Quad Cab R/T and transplant an Inertia Motorsports 392 hemi into it.
I know you were able to successfully tune Dusty's 05 Dakota with 5.7L Hemi/6.1L cam after he swapped out the 4.7l. I will do the same, just go with a bigger hemi, and eventually boost lol.

If I decide on the Durango that will be after the steering problems are worked out. It would be a daily driver.
Once I get off this island I will build another Dakota. The island of Kauai does not have Autozone, Advance auto, etc. Parts have to be special ordered.
I will have to go with an 06 so it will be SCT supported.

I got an email from hemifever. You can use an 06 Dakota PCM and that would be totally programable. If you use one out of a Ram you have to ensure the cluster displays are compatable. Now that puts three options on the table for me
06 Dakota 392 Hemi Swap
06 Dakota swapped to an 08 4.7L with custom cam grinds and Kenne Bell blower.
08 Dakota with swapped 06 Dakota PCM with custom cam grinds and Kenne Bell blower.
Thank God for for SCT, lol.

06 dakota with 084.7 i wanna see someone do up one of these new motors so i dont have to spend the money no a 6.4
