Default front to back on the daks, leaf spring ?

the level kit & ball joint deal got me looking at things.

i do tow with my truck,so with tax $ in hand , im thinking i may as well raise the rear with an add a leaf to offset the "nose up" look ive seen on some leveled trucks & to help with towing capacity .

when i hook the boat trailer up the back drops a bit, which would make it ride nose up w/a leveling kit when towing.

when looking underneath, i see 5 leaf springs in the stack, 4 bundled together & 1 shorter one that looks a lot like the add a leafs i see online.
im looking at the tuff country set from summit racing as my possible choice.

im hoping someone hasnt already added one, im thinking not, since my trucks rear doesnt sit any higher than other stock ones ive seen.

so if yours is stock does it look like this?

also, i know some vehicles have a short one on the bottom, but if you have installed an add a leaf, where did it go in the stack?
it looks to me like that bundle strap on the top 4 would be in the way of another one stacking with them.does it?

figured id ask here before some stranger sees me crawling under their truck & calls the cops

Just installed my add-a leafs last weekend. They do sit under that bottom leaf. Almost the same length.

Did you have a load in your truck when you took that pic? I have 5 too, but my last on is an overload leaf that doesn't touch the others until I'm heavy. Its usually not arched with the others.

That's what mine looks like, and my truck never towed so I'd assume it's stock

http://www.activesuspension.com/ I was thinking about something like this .. if it works almost as well as they say could be a really good investment (towing or not)

thanks for the input fellas.

frenicx, yes i did have some scrap wire from work for the salvage yard$$ in back , but not a whole lot. but , it was also parked on a slope with the other side uphill,& that side looks more like yours with the over load gap. nice selection of pics btw.

jkeaton, a couple questions please, how has it affected the truck height & ride quality? have you towed any thing w/ it yet?are yours the tuff countrys? they had 2 different heights available i think.if so which one is yours?

durapu, ive seen those & i like the concept & design. i guess the downside would be the price, IIRC they are fairly expensive.

I measured mine last night, I have 36" from floor to bottom of fender opening in the front and 37" in the back, so assuming mine was completely level before, it added 1" to the rear. I have not noticed any drastic changes in ride quality. I do have a strange metallic "tinging" now when I hit a bump on the right side. I have to have a look and see if something has come loose or something.
