Default complete shackle disaster

well the situation went from bad to worse. when i last left you guys i was at a 2 inch drop with vibration at the rear end. do to the pitch angle of the differentual, causeing the u joints to bind up. so the solution was simple raise it up 1 inch and problem solved.(Right), wrong, the shackles sorta adjusted them selves with the ride of the truck as it settled on the breaking them in, so a secondary adjustment was almost imposible. not to mention the notorious bolt hang up for like 2 hours. after all that i just said F%$K it and put the old one back on and what do you know just like new. no vibration and actualy its a smoother ride so for now ill stay with stock. until i get some 1 inch max drop shackle. from one of the sites and brands u guys used.

I had no problems with my 2" rear drop shaclkes. I adjusted the leafs to get the rear axle at the angle I wanted.

I also went with Belltech for the shocks. Stock length extended is 24" collapsed is 14.75. Belltech has the 2212DD that are 22" extended and 13.5" collapsed.

Ouch man, that's odd though I wonder why it was doing that. Doesn't make much sense... I wonder if you actually do have a problem back there that is enhanced by the change in pinion angle.

But anyhoo, when you're ready to try again. here's where mine came from:

Great combo with the shocks Blown listed above, I likes them.

My trucks been low, now it's lifted and with the 2inch lowering shackles I had no problems drove around with them for 3 years. Sounds like you either got bad shackles or your stressing another problem when you lowered the rear.

you may very well be correct but like i said before with 87000 miles on her i sure would hate to dig up a problem over some fifty dollar shackles, the dak looks clean with or without them so for now im moveing on to the next mod.

I haven't had any issues with the shackles and a 2" drop. Really weird that it's giving you these problems.
