Engine Miss at Speed
I feel it on a flat. The slightest acceleration or deceleration and it goes away. Also, I think it happens above the 50 mph threshold but I just don't feel it. Kinda like a lawnmower, at a lower throttle the handle shakes alot and as you raise throttle it turns from shake to vibration. I seldom use a/c, but the other day I had it on and noticed I could feel that stutter more. At 65 mph(w/ac) I thought I could still feel it at a higher cycle rate. Just not sure if it was real or imagined (lol).
Are you guys sure it's not just the sudden loss of power when the A/C compressor clutch grabs? The clutch may not be as smooth as it used to be.
Does it happen with the A/C system completely off (not even on defrost)?

I read some where and now can not find that read, where someone dismantled their transmission and found a spring on something inside had come off. Not sure why they were doing trans work to begin with. I dont feel my miss on acceleration only at steady speed above 35, yes could be the trans like it wants to finish a shift or can not figure which gear to be in. I have put in tow/haul and without this , no change other than the tach read different higher rpm with in.
That's going to be a tough one then. Not sure I'd want to spend the money to tear into the transmission just on a guess when everything else about it is working fine...They're generally best kept well enough alone if they're not indicating any definitive problems.
It may be best just to wait until it gets bad enough to throw a code.

I have been looking at so many forums and sites and trouble shoot locations, I really dont know where I read it. I would like to find a real pro that knows dodge trans that may know about this spring thing. I am looking around Springfield Mo now to find this person. I did talk with the trans guy at only dealership here about my problem, he had never heard of this going on. This Dodge is my first Chrysler product, so now have to find this membership family that know all.
I'm going to replace the TPS and see what happens. It could be bad and sending a false a signal to PCM and/or trans causing them to react to an improper throttle position. This would affect shifting, timing and fuel injection duration.
