My vehicle has not thrown any codes. I still have the 'feel like miss" problem. No solution as yet.

With a relatively current OBD2 system, if you get no diagnostic codes generated, it usually means that the problem is located somewhere the PCM can't "see". The "misfire" group of codes doesn't mean the engine is misfiring, it only means that it's not running smoothly and there are some "shake" sensors to determine if there's a hiccup in the engine vibration, like you would get if one cylinder didn't fire. If the hiccup is random, you'll get the code for a general misfire, but if it can determine what cylinder(s) were active (or supposed to be active) during the hiccup, you'll also get the specific code for a misfire on that cylinder. If you do get the general misfire code on occasion, you should look where the PCM can't see, like:

  • Malfunctioning Sparkplugs,
  • Malfunctioning Coils,
  • Injector issues,
  • Compression issues.
Any of these or other sensorless areas can give you a constant or intermittent lack of power. I would look at each of the areas the computer can't sense to see if there was something amiss - these are no procedures for this, you need to develop a reasonable understanding of what areas each of the sensors covers and what is left uncovered. The service manual in the sticky section has a good description of all the sensors, how to test them, etc. That would be a good place to start.

I have discussed this problem with Chrysler Corp and have a engineering ref number issued. They have made contact with my dealer and I am taking vehicle to them this morning 102313. I told them of the many who report the same problem on this forum.I have made notes of your reports/findings. Wish me luck!!!!

Well getting a ref number from Chrysler meant nothing to my dealer. They did what they have done in the past 23 point inspect, no codes, sent me on my way as they can not help. Problem more annoying than bad running. Still looking for solution.

Default Same issue

I have 2010 Dodge Dakota 3.7...with same issue

First it started out when I was trying to accelerate..no power and once I got over certain speed it be fine. check engine light came on said engine misfore 305.
1. I changed spark plugs 2x and slave wires.
2. Added fuel injector cleaner
3. Cleaned with seafoam
4. Cleaned Throttle body

sometimes when my a/c was on it do the studder. I just started turning my a/c off when I needed power.

Now does it at 60-70mph..

This been going on past 1.5 years. Dealership said I needed a tuneup which I did...no luck.

RRRRR dang truck!!

I have talked to another couple of owners and we believe the cause is in the computer, just will not throw a code...Very costly to switch with a very BIG maybe fix. I wish that there was a DODGE factory rep that would take this problem head on and find a fix for so many with problem. My bet this info has been around and caused some to not want to buy for fear of this problem. Think the trans signal can not figure which gear should be in at that steady speed....MAYBE!!!
