Official weight of my 2wd
So I actually used my truck as a truck this weekend and was making trips to the dump. Heaviest I had the truck was 6000lbs. I was also able to get the base weigh of the truck with me in it, so here's the weight and things I've done which lightened it up.
Total with me in was 4740lbs
Sway bar was off
-25lbs est
Drop hitch and stock rear bumper off, replaced with roll pan
-80lbs est
Load leafs removed
-7lbs est
removed spare
-55lbs est.
personal spare tire gained since Christmas (going to gym for that...)
+40lbs
I also had a full tank, the little ones carseat, lab supplies, books and backpack in the backseat.
I still have a lot of space to lighten it up if I get to the point of obsession. I know of some guys who do anything to lighten up on race days.. remove all seats, console, tailgate, make sure to have less than 1/4 tank.. some even relocate the battery to the bed of the truck for better weight distribution.
By the way, the 4.7 handled that extra ~1300lbs like a champ, even lowered the truck had some room to flex.

haha. The Hennessy venom gt would be 3k with a fat driver like me in it.
BTW, if I subtract my weight and an estimate of the stuff I had in there are the time.
me, 235lbs.
random stuff, 50lbs
4455lbs
That's about what a Rumble Bee weighs, I'm hoping I will be as fast as some of them some day... or faster.

it really doesnt. the rear swaybar is enough to keep the truck stable but still allow the front end to fully articulate on its own without a sway bar. totally fun! plus you get the prerunner lean when cornering fast. and who doesnt want that haha.
its only a few bolts. unhook that bad boy and go over some speed bumps or road dips at an angle and tell me if you spill your coffee.
