Default 2009 Dakota Sat Radio Issue

I have a 2009 Dakota and want to replace the Factory Radio with a 2009 Sebring Factory Radio that has Sirius Sat. The Dakota Radio does not have the Sirius Option. I expect I will have to get a Factory antenna from Dodge. What else would I need?

You will need the sat. antenna kit from Dodge and the sat. ID number from the radio you are installing. When you call to activate the radio, they will ask for the number. My radio displayed the number when I hit the sat. button.Hope this helps.

Default Odered Antenna but....

Thanks for helping. When I ordered the Antenna, the Parts advisor told me the antenna comes with a short cable that connects to some coupler/box under the back seat of the Sebring. It sounds like I may need another part. He had no part number for this "connector". Do you think this is a special part or just a factory prewire connector for the "option" of sirius?

Not sure, my kit was an antenna which mounted on the roof and the cable to run back to the radio.

There is actually a separate box/unit which is the SAT radio itself. You have to run the antenna cable to the box, then another cable through the dash to the back of the receiver.

Found here: https://www.dodgeparts.com/product_i...oducts_id=2736

That's not inclueding the wiring harnesses you need and the antenna wiring. You can find those here: https://www.dodgeparts.com/product_i...oducts_id=2737
Quite pricy if you ask me but you might be able to find one cheaper elsewhere.

Do you have the part number for the antenna kit?

Try #82210940AD, if the radio you bought is satellite ready, I think this is all you need. The radio I bought has the connection on the back for the satellite antenna cable.

Here is a good site to use as a reference. http://www.wkjeeps.com/wk_nav_2.htm

If you end up having to purchase the module for SAT Radio, you might consider looking at some of the aftermarket radios.

I love my Jesen and for the XM Module I was able to tap into the SAT Radio antenna.

Worth looking at.
