clicking under dash
#12
Actually, there are 3 actuators. The one under the dash behind the glovebox is the Heat/Cool blend door. The other two are located on the side by the gas pedal. Those are the mode doors, i.e. defrost/floor vents/dash vents, etc.
So, if the clicking is heard when changing modes it is most likely one of the two that are easy to get too. If the clicking is heard upon changing temp ****, then it would be the painfully located one on top of the HVAC system.
I just went through this with my 05, it was stuck on cool air even when I changed it all the way to full heat. I was able to pull the glovebox out and tap the actuator with a screwdriver handle and it unstuck it for now. As long as it gets me through the winter I will be fine.

The **** circled in red is the one clicks continuously after I shut off heat/ac. Where is the blend door actuator located?
Thanks

2007 Dakota- Same here
Mine has been doing this for over a year now and it happens when I change mode. Depending on the mode being switched I can hear multiple dampers clicking at different tones. The truck is still under warranty so repair is not a problem. However, now my headlights and dashboard lights are flickering and besides the alternator going out it could be the BCM (Body Control Module) which controls a lotta stuff including the ac panel so I’m told. I’ll return to this post for an update when I get it fixed and yield the results.
