I became very very attached to the spintech mufflers. if you want quick and easy, use the offset 2.5" single in/out. They just sound SOOO good on a 4.7, it's really hard to beat... Honestly I'm not too impressed with the same thing on my hemi. Time to go true dual and louder

I had a flowmaster 40 series on mine, no resonators. Loud as hell. So much drone in the cab you could not hear a passenger talking. I ditched it for a magnaflow. Still loud but much less drone.

Very good comment. Some Dakotas appear to have some sound deadening insulation in the cab so that it doesn't sound like you're a sound box. A lot don't & mine is one that doesn't I use a couple of glass packs on mine and it's louder inside the cab than it is outside, so I don't take any long trips in it at the moment. Sometime soon, I plan to remove what I have, add some good sound deadening insulation in the cab, and install something less "drony" that mellows out at the higher rpm. I've used the 50 series flowmaster and magnaflow on my jeep and find them to be close, but the magnaflow isn't as rough.

I have found flowmasters to be loud, raspy and have tons of drone at cruising speed (70 mph @1600 RPM). Some people like that, I did not. It's all personal taste when it comes to exhaust sounds. The magnaflow sounded the best for me. To the OP, do a search on here for exhausts, tons of threads on them.

My thrush welded didn't have any drone, it was pretty good for a chambered muffler. I kept the pipe over the rear axle and I'm sure that helped. Now that was a cheap install. Like 40 bucks and it was all said and done.

years a go i had a 1963 300 J 500 in max duel carb 3200 stall. took it to a muffler shop. two glasspacks on ea side. still loud. the guy made each pipe with the last 2-3" with a reduced size by 20-30%. no power loss. with a reduced noise.

I loved my Cherry Bombs then it rusted and cracked at the welds, I tried a full MBRP exhaust and its sweet. You can go full exhaust or buy just a muffler. Check out Youtube I posted a video of mine up, under some load.

I know this is gonna sound nuts....

I had a 2.5 mandral bent dual setup done with glass packs and an H pipe about 7 years ago, the duals running side by side , recently the tail pipes rusted out and i had to have a quick fix done as in right now as i had to leave on a trip the next morning, all the guy had in stock was a Magnaflow dual in dual out, it lined up great to my existing pipes from the cats, (edit: so he installed the muffler and made new tail pipes) so i went on my trip and found the drone to be pretty bad, worse than my glass packs, so i went back and asked what we could do about getting rid of the drone, then i came up with the idea of adding a second dual in dual out muffler, so he ordered another and i had it installed about 5 days later, the drone is almost non existent and it is quieter, still sounds nice on the outside and i carry on conversations without being annoyed.

I think the added back pressure was minimal and think i even gained about .5 mpg in the process.

Sounds nice man. Did you install it yourself?
