Just got EBC pads and rotors
I felt a slight grinding while braking so I took a look when I was rotating my tires and found that the front left outer pad was just about done. The little metal clip that holds the pad in place was rubbing on the rotor. So that night I ordered some EBC Greenstuff 7000 Series pads and EBC USR Series Slotted Sport rotors. They just showed up the other day so I am heading to my buddies place this Saturday morning to install them. I can't wait to not have to clean my wheels every other week. And I've heard these pads last quite a while. The front brakes were just replaced when I bought the truck a year and a half ago.
Here's the part numbers for my 08 Dakota Club Cab 4.7 4x4.
DP71738 pads
USR7274 rotors
Here's what I got. (and yes there is another rotor in a box below)

Looks great. Can't wait to see what you think of them once they are fully bedded in. I did mine in July, not with the EBC parts, but i did go with better then OEM (don't ask me what i put on, i not longer have boxes). I did mine due to warping of the rotors, not wear.
I don't know your technical level, but I still have a bit of a squeak at times. Make sure you clean the pad bracket (or whatever it's called) really good so the clips that hold the pads slide easily. I've had to take it all apart a second time and clean it about 2 months after i initially replaced them, and the squeak i have now is due to the strange wear pattern i had at first when i didn't clean the brackets enough. It's better then it was, but i don't have the cash to get new pads at the moment. I'll live with the noise and excess brake dust until i get a new job and things warm up. My garage isn't heated and it's too cold up here in winter to do too much work on my truck.

Best thing about ceramic pads imo. You may pay a little more but you dont have to spend all the extra time cleaning the front wheels! lol
That's what I've read. Something about ceramics retaining heat longer than semi-metallic, meaning semi-metallics cool off faster. I still prefer ceramic though.
I just got back from my buddies place after installing the new pads and rotors. I'm a heavy duty equipment tech and he's an automotive tech so this job was beyond simple. The install went perfect and they look awesome.

And then after about 10km drive back to my house this is what they look like.

The website says they require about 450 miles to fully bed in but my buddy told me how they do it at the dealer and it shouldn't take nearly that long.
Now I'm just gonna wait till the snow and salt is gone from the roads to clean my wheels.
The website also says to expect some brake noise during the brake in period but I didn't hear any. I think they are gonna be just fine. I'll let you know how they are after bedding in. I won't be towing anything till springtime so I will let you know how that goes as well.

I put EBC pads on my truck and during the breakin period if I was traveling under 25mph and hit the brakes I could hear a squealing noise, esp if I was on the highway next to those cement barriers. But after the break in, the noise was gone.
