Default i bent the front of my bed!!!!!

i was moving a job box from site to site it was not very far so i decided not to put straps on but just flip it on it top so the wheels were in the air and some one braked hard infront of me and the box slammed into the front.

any one know how to bend it back?

i used an old oar to get between the bed and cab..then just pried it out..you just have to work it a little at a time..then i put a piece of angle iron on it so hopefully it won't happen again...good luck

Like said above it is not too hard to return it to where it was. Just take your time, I think I moved mine back by hand. If wanted weld up a small brace plate right where the bend is so the rear rail will gain some strength back.

I did that before on my old truck; however mine included the lower portion as well. I used a thin board and pried slowly and carefully and got it almost back to perfect.

Mine was bent like this when I got it, just one crease in it though, not two like yours. My truck was a rental and it didn't have the drop in bed liner. The dealer wanted to put one in and i told him not to, i got remote start instead. I pulled against it slowly until the front of the bed was straight, then I used a hammer to tap down the high spot on the top. There is still a small crease on mine, but you have to know where it is, most of the metal will go back in place if you do it slowly. Tapping down the hight part on top will basically lock in the shape so it won't be too weak in the future.

I would be careful with putting something between the bed and the cab, you don't want to bend the back of the cab also.

Just take your time, don't try to force too much of it at once, and the creases on the vertical parts should lessen dramatically as it starts getting back in shape. Those might still remain, but they might not be that noticeable.

Grab with two hands and yank backwards a few times. This worked for me after I did the same thing by ratchet strapping something too tightly in the bed.

Back it up to a tree and use a come-a-long tied around the tree
