2007 Dodge Dakota muffler replacement. Recommendations?
Hey there, Dodge Forum! I was looking for a few suggestions regarding a new muffler for my 2007 Dakota. I have the 4.7 V8 with 235 horsepower.
I used to own a 2000 Dodge Dakota with a 4.7 also, but unfortunately the rust spread too much for us to put any more money into it. I loved that truck. I had a $30 generic intake installed as well as a Magnaflow cat-back exhaust system.
My cat-back exhaust was a gift when I graduated high school and it was a deal for my dad to find it at around $300. These days, I don't have much money to put into my own truck and was looking to replace my muffler to get a nice tone from it. The stock muffler is so quiet that it's hard to tell if my truck is running or not! (okay, that's an exaggeration, but even so it's still too quiet).
My exhaust system was louder than stock and had a nice deep tone to it, but it wasn't an offensively loud setup. It just sounded a bit louder and had a muscle car-esque sound to it.
I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions as to what a good muffler would be to replace my stock one. I'm looking for a deep tone with a bit of volume, but nothing that's going to get me pulled over or anything.
Sorry for being so long-winded, but I do appreciate you all taking the time to read it and help me out. Thank you!

I recently made a very similar thread as this, with the same hopes in finding a muffler with a deep rumble but not too loud! My answer is going to be a cherrybomb glasspack, but i have not installed yet
As my still at college! But in a month or so i shall! Heres a link to my thread and how i got to my decision.

Mag-Na-Flow.
Here is a thread with 4.7 exhaust samples, my post is #17. Listen through some of the videos, quite a few sound good.

Mine sounds better with age too.
Is the MBRP System a complete Cat back system? Does it get rid of all the mufflers and resonators these pickups have?
This is the kit I am very interested in cause it is stainless steel and does have a life time warranty.

Generally a catback system replaces everything from the cat back...hence the name. You could also look at the MBRP website....

I have a MBRP on my 3.7L and Im not impressed with it, Low QC (Mine had 3 issues, Someone else had 1) Mine didnt have the Y pipe end expanded to fit over the Y pipe, It also didnt have Notches cut into the expanded parts to seal/hold good. Neither where big deals tho, and MBRP did offer to replace the parts. Shop expanded it for free, and I cut the notches.
It took me less then a day to get the old off, and new completely on, I only had to use ramps to install mine (Im skinny, I can fit under my truck on the ground mostly)
It doesnt sound the greatest on the 3.7L, But It sounds great on the 4.7L however. I heard the 4.7L clips and figured it might sound close, but it doesnt saddly. I ordered the Si/So Stainless Steel One
