Default 05 quad cab engine swap

i have the 4.7 with the 45re tranny and heavy duty rear end. the motor is not ment to be in this world for much longer it was abused and mistreated before i got it 8 months ago and now sounds like a diesel on startup till it warms up and eats oil and piston slap in the winter until warmup. question is, what can i put into it that i could just bolt on. no salvage yard in my entire province has a 4.7 on hand for this year but they do have 3 3.7 v6 but i dont want a small v6 it already lacks power for how heavy it is. but they do have 4.7 for 08 and up it said on there website but im looking at 2600$.would a newer 4.7 work on my setup? what have people done?

also how does a resonator delete kit sound like. is it too loud? there is a bylaw in my town which cant be more than 100 decibels or you get a ticket.

the 3.7 will not bolt right up, the bell housing is completely different. 08+ 4.7's have an extra spark plug per cylinder, so it will bolt right up, but it might not function correctly without getting the computer at the same time.

as for the resonator delete, if you still have your stock muffler, then the sound shouldn't be too loud. i would only be worried if you remove the resonator and have a different muffler.

I'd make it simple, drop in a nice 318/360 in it. Basic set up, extra ignition. I'd rig it up to existing later on.

I know that, get a trans with it. This is what I plan to do when my 4.7 takes a poop. *KNOCK ON WOOD* Just going to get the harness and ecu but strip the harness to only where it needs to be to start it. Have an ignition for that, but have it put button, and hide the key that is turned in the ignition somewhere in the dash.

the new 4.7 should bolt up to the trans, but your current computer will not work correctly due to 2 plugs per cylinder on the new 4.7

I have a nice low km 4.7 from my 08 but no ECM or harness.
ECM's are cheap and can be reflashed for about $150.
The 08 is drive by wire so you need the throttle as well.
Could get interesting for programing if you have an automatic.
