Searched for plugs on the forum. Lotta gear heads with better opinions then mine. Funny part is how many differing opinions there are. I had my truck tuned when I first bought it. 67k. Mechanic said they were original. Funny part didn't run better and no increase in mileage. Another irony was mechanic said go with champion copper. Best for magnum engine. So 33k and 2.5 years later I change my plugs. Because of mechanic and info here I choose champion copper pluses. Irony is he'd put champion iridium in. Truck wasn't running bad just know that copper plugs are good for 30k. Guess I lol see how the pluses do cause they're in now. Btw that pvc in the rear is a bear to get to. Bad idea dodge.

 

Copper plugs are best.

 

I hated how the champion coppers made my truck run, swapped them for motorcraft platinums and love them.

 

Tried platinums in mine. Ran like crap.

 

stick with copper plugs, never platinum or iridium, I always use autolite 3923 plugs, they are a heat range cooler and seem to smooth the idle out better.

 

The autolite 3923 are listed only for Dakota 2004-2005 on their website. Does this mean these would not work in my 2008 Dak?

 

that's right, you have 16 plugs, they may work in the uppers but not sure about lowers

 

I have the 3.7L V6.

 

perfect. should fit with no issues. just look on their website for fitments

 

Interesting, as I was always under the impression that iridium is always the best since it has a longer life "knowing that you are choosing compatible iridium plugs with the correct gaping".
It seems this is a YMMV subject.

I used to be the guy that takes out everything OEM "if possible" and replace it with an aftermarket: Shocks, spark plugs, brakes, wheels, etc... With years I learned that I don't always get the best results with the aftermarket, even if they advertise better components. I did learn to stick with OEM yet I don't really listen
