2007 Dodge Dakota 4.7L Auto
I bought a Edge Evolution Diesel Programmer CTS2 (85400) about 6 months back. I was driving an 03 5.9L 24V Cummins at the time. Well I sold the truck, so I put the program back in the box up in the garage. Well, my Dad decided to hook it up to my brothers truck (2007 Dodge Dakota 4.7L Auto). He said the programmer loaded to the gauge screen. Then, power but no start/turnover. I checked the Battery voltage (5.8V), so I put a new in (13.6V). I turned the key to the ON position and cluster did everything like it always has, so I try to start it and nothing. The voltage is still above 13V. So, next I checked the # 2 and 22 pins (which should show battery voltage with the key on) located in the BLACK 32- way plug on the PCM/ECM. Unfortunately, they both showed the exact battery voltage. Hopefully I am wrong, but preforming those few troubleshooting test lead me to believe the PCM/ECM is fried.
No, when you plug the programmer into the OBDII port the programmer powers on and then I click Dodge/Chrysler, then turn key to ON position and submit YES, then it says determining something, then says erased something, then freezes and won’t do anything else till I restart to Programmer. But no matter how many times I restart it, it won’t go any further.
I read a post on another website this morning about doing that. And the battery was disconnected for almost 2 1/2 hrs because I got tied up under the hood of another truck and lost track of time. But anyway, it didn’t change anything in the behavior.
If you can find and HPTuners tuner around you they might be able to find a stock ECM profile and flash it for you cheaper than a new ECM may cost.

truck needs to go to dealership and reload all new software, happen to me first time I tried using a tuner, I didn't do the required email update and pcm crapped out, wasn't fried just lost all info, was 106.00 to upload all stock info back into truck.
