Default Bring Back the Daktoa

I still have my 99 Dakota with the 5.2 or 318 it been a good truck other than the ball joints and the bushings Am I the only one who had this? a smaller Dakota like the new Chevy or Ford with a 5.7 hemi or a turbo 6 why has Chrysler not come out with a turbo six? they are always behind.with all the Hemis you think they would offer a super changed six or a turbo.

Turbo Six is BMW, or Toyota. Dodge does big V-8s, with huge horsepower numbers. Now, a Hellcat motor in a new Dakota? That would be awesome.

New Dakota, if it happens will be a FWD Ridgeline (with an AWD option) type of vehicle. UNLESS FCA decides to make a Jeep based truck and call it a Dakota. That would be sweet. There will never be a small Ram based Dakota again. Chrysler killed that business model by pricing the 3rd gen Dakota out of the market.

Actually, FCA reports they are going to build the Mini-Ram based on the new Jeep Gladiator Chassis.

These other makers are going turbo because of government regulations if I understand correctly. Once the v8's are all gone, you'll miss them.

You'd think so, one exception I noticed was the new Toyota Camry. No turbos, and yet they are beating the turbo'd competition in mileage and power. This is what FCA needs to do.

Article I read about the Camry - https://www.ericpetersautos.com/2018...-toyota-camry/

But, they run hot. Does that mean more metal fatigue and earlier engine failure?

FCA news last fall was that they were going to re-enter the mid-size market with a body-on-frame truck, not a unibody like the Ridgeline travesty. They didn't say what the name would be.

I'm with y'all. I'd like to see the Dakota with a turbo-6 diesel. Turbo the EcoDiesel? That'd be sweet!
