Default tube coming off of PCV valve, leading back to engine, where the hell does it hook up?

Okay, so the tube that comes off the PCV valve (the one on the oil filler neck) the little rubber boot at the other end split and popped off, I cannot for the life of me figure out where it goes back on at. Its causing my truck to idle at 1500rpm... I did'nt want to take it to a shop for this but jeezus I'm not finding anything on hooking it back up. I'm running a 4.7L auto with 4x4 any help is much appreciated thank you.

That was a nice find, but still seems different then what I'm dealing with. I took pictures of the tube in question, it is very long and molded in shape, it seems like it should be easy. but I cant find a nipple to plug it into.

Should connect to a breather threaded into the rear of one of the cylinder heads, between the valve cover and the intake manifold. In your last photo, the wide hose in the foreground/bottom of the photo looks like it's going down onto the passenger-side cylinder head breather, so the loose one may have come off the driver-side cylinder head breather on the other side of the engine. Not sure your year, but this is from the 2005 manual:

Default Well? Where does it connect?

Where does it connect?
I just had my head gaskets replaced by a friend, and it came back with that same tube unconnected (we cant find anything to connect it to) and it is idling at 1700 rpm.

I finnally took it to a repair shop (stroke of luck my sisters ex is one their mechanics, we are good terms) turns out its on the drivers side of the back of the intake kind of behindish the EGR valve. Took 20 minutes to get back on because it was such a tight squeeze and my rubber boot cracked. he has tiny hands and arms, so larger handed/armed people might need to remove the EGR valve to actually get to it. I could never get a good clear photo of it, I'll try again when I get off work tonight and see if I can get a better photo to help every one out.

Default Yup

My mechanic figured it out last night, too. Same thing. Little hands are key. As soon as he got it back on, the idle dropped back to 850rpm.
I don't know how you could get a decent photo it. Its gotta be done by feel.
