Default New Truck Owner

Hello I just bought a 2005 Dodge Dakota with 108,000 for $2500. Only issues are Air conditioner needs to be recharged, the steering column has alot of play. The lower column needs to be replaced. The wiper fluid pump replaced, and clearcoat on the hood is not pretty. Did I do ok? Truck shakes when on the brake, could be rotors and I had to get an alignment. I am looking at about $900 in repairs. Tires at about 2 years old.

That’s on the list. Was $2500 an ok price? Would you get a Maaco paint job?

Seems like good deal, and with the few issues you have to deal with, it'll still be a good deal when you're done.

So this is where I am at with the truck.

Needed new rotors and front brakes.
Steering colunm was loose, he welded that.
New wiper fluid pump.
New Ac compressor needs replaced

I am looking at about $1200 for all.

My nephew said everyting else look fine. I am hoping with only 108,000 miles the engine and trans last. It is 20 years old.

I am at with truck purcahse price $3700. But that should be it. I am forging the paint job.

don't see if you have the 4.7 V8 or the 3.7 V6? if it's the V6 the transmission is weak for the weight of the dakota and if you ask me is a weakpoint. The transmission behind the V8 is the same as behind the hemi in the full size ram trucks and is MUCH stronger. of course, these are for automatic transmissions. i don't know about the manuals. and again you don't mention what you have.
