This is a different kind of post. Im posting this in the 3rd gen section, because its geared towards all of us gen 3 owners. What vehicles have you owned up untill you purchased your genIII dak?

I just want to see what kind of transitions, if any there are.

-First car, 1990 chevy beretta *automatic that stalled in intersections and stop signs*
-Second Car, 2001 VW Golf, 2.0L, 5 speed. * door seals always leaked, after rain storms id have about 3 inches of water in the car*
-And now, My baby 2k5 dak

 

Here's my list (not including the wife's cars)... I'm almost 29...

1988 Ford Ranger "S" 4x2, black, 2L carburated 4cyl 5spd, 85hp new - couldn't keep above 65mph in a crosswind
1998 Dakota Sport CC 4x2, black, 3.9 V6 5spd, 3.21 rear end meant it was S-L-O-W
2001 Dakota Sport CC 4x4, red (swore off black), 4.7 V8 auto, after the 2nd heater core and replacing warped heads at 41k miles I traded it for...
2003 VW Jetta Wolfsburg, silver, 1.8T 5spd, nice car with no problems, a little small for a family
2002 Honda Accord EXL V6, ugh, bought used and sold quick
2006 Mazda 6 5door, blue, 4cyl 5spd, finally realized I needed a truck again, so...
2006 Dakota SLT Quad 4x2, red, 4.7 V8 auto, tempting fate again, but for only $16.5 new I couldn't resist!

BTW, my wife now has the Mazda, I didn't take a total bath on every car!

 

Let's see if my memory still serves me well. Turned 69 this past June. A really young 69 in both mind and body if I can be permitted to brag. Anyhow, in ascending order: '53 Mercury Monterey 2 tone green hardtop straight 8; '55 Chrysler New Yorker red/white hardtop v8;'57 Oldsmobile convertible white/green top v8; '61 Oldsmobile 4dr sedan(yeah, a dull family car, married with 1 child, another on the way; '63 ChevyII ,a real dog,yuck; '72 Chevy station wagon,350v8; '80 Buick LeSabre station wagon,v8; my first Dodge truck, '85 Ramcharger,a tough black beast; new '90 Chevy Lumina for the wife; my second Dodge, '94 Ram 1500 w/cap; new 2000 Malibu for the wife; and then my first personal NEW ride, '05 Dodge Dakota. That's it.

 

Wow, nice list, both of you... except for the civic :-P Nah im jsut kidding, it used to cross my mind too :-D Anyone else?

Thats this year. My wife talked me into a new truck. She said it would keep me from buying and selling so much.
The most unique was an 86 Pulse. Has anybody ever seen one? Looked like a jet fighter with a smoked canope and little winglets on each side powered by a goldwing 4. Wish I had it back!!
