Hey guys I borrowed a friends heat gun last night, the 4x4 stickers on the rear fenders fell right off, didn't leave any glue residue or anything Thought I'd share that anyway, just in case anyone else thinks those stickers are kinda dorky
If you decide to do this, do it sooner than later. The longer your truck has the stickers on, the more noticable it will be when taking them off due to UV rays.
I took the dealer sticker off my 99 when I bought it. and in the right light, you can still see where it was. but atleast it looks better than an ugly dealer sticker.[:'(]
Ya you wouldn't have to have a heat gun I don't think, it just made it even easier. I was pleasantly surprised how easily they came off Virus-that's a good point
when I took off my first pair of "Bruiser" stickers to upgrade to a new design (I dont have a heat gun yet) it took me a long time to do it, and since they were vinyl, left sticker gunk on the truck..took me so long to get it off...word of advice...if you get vinyl stickers for the paint job, make sure they are the ones you WANT for a long time..mine were only on the truck maybe...4 months
After I took mine off the week I bought my new '05 SLT, I put the 4X4 emblem used on the 2500 on the right side of the tailgate (top right). Looks great.
As I was washing my truck one day I noticed the side molding on the passenger door was hanging on by a thread. I pulled it right off and noticed that some of the paint underneath was actually missing. It looks like a grey primer spot. Now I have glue marks surrounding a primed grey little square, and I need to do something about it.
First off, clean it with someWD40 or Goo Gone. Get it all clean, and then wax the doors. Then bring it into the dealer and ask if they can do anything about the ****-poor paint job you recieved.
