Just wanted to intro and say hello.

I have an '06 Brilliant Crystal Red Dakota I've been mildly modifying but have a question for other like owners. Is anyone else getting around 12 mpg on average or do I have an unusual V-6 situation? Oh, and it does have an automatic too.
Many thanks.

First, welcome to the forum. Second, I would say you definitely have an 'unusual V-6 situation.' I usually get between 18-20 mpg in mixed driving in my 3.7L 4x2 with automatic, and it's bone stock. What mods have you done? Is yours a 4x2 or 4x4?

22mpg!?!!??!

Come on now!! The truck is only rated at 20mpg on the highway (and they do that test at 45mph, which is unrealistic) AND you have a 4x4

After my swap back to the factory 3.55 gears and a reset on the overhead console....I'm only at 16.9 MPG (on the freeway) and that's babying the **** out of it on a 4x2

I got 22 mpg as well at 60, until I changed to the bigger tires, synthetic fluids will do that, I have synthetic differential fluids and oil..

I get about 19 now.

I can 20-21 at 80mph... until I hit a big hill. That's with my mods. Now I need to clean the airfilter cuz I'm not getting very good mileage.

Welcome to the forum. You'll have a lot of fun here.

i'm finding that, with mine, i can get fantastic fuel economy up to 68mph. from there, it drops off pretty quick.

by fantastic, i mean 19 mpg on winter blend fuel. once summer hits, it'll be in the 20-21 mpg range (i think...it wasn't completely broken in 'til October or so, so it might do better this summer).

i usually run with the cruise at 64 (in a 55 zone) or 68 (in the 65 zone) for best fuel economy. might go a bit faster in the 65 zone if i'm in a hurry.
