Valve Cover Breathers
I was looking at the valve cover breathers and what the benefits of having one installed. Does it help keep the core a little bit cooler and help with the effeciency of the engine, therefore...[:@] Does it make it perform better?

well, it would make you more efficient, in theory. your not fighting pressure, so thus less resistance. we put them on our race cars, but i have never done it for a street car. I dont think a stock or slightly modified motor would build up enough pressure to rob power. IDK though. I have been wrong befor. I will ask my main mech. he would know more about it than me. Plus he has my stat for my dakm so I am going over there anyway.
Stupid question: How are the valve cover breathers you speak of any better/differant than the one(s) already installed for the PCV system?
If you're talking to me, I'm not sure where the pcv is on our engines. I haven't come acrossed it yet, not to say that it isn't there, I just haven't seen it yet. Also, it's bigger than the ones we would have that's stock. Better breathing.

A valve cover breather and the PCV (positive crankcase ventilation) serve the same purpose. They are there to relieve the pressure that builds up in the block due to the air heating up, oil evaporating, condesation evaporating and blow-by exhaust. The only difference is that the breather vents these gasses directly to the atmosphere and the PCV system draws these gasses into the air intake and burns them, thus reducing emissions. You will not notice any power difference buy adding/switching to a crankcase breather, they are mostly for older engines and race engines.
So, for times NOT doing your emmisions inspection, we could put one of those cool looking filters on and be okay, huh? I wonder if where the PVC hose goes onto the valve cover is threaded that would match the threads on the air filters.
