I find it funny would people drive 14-19 mpg vehicles and complain about gas prices, they're digging their own grave.
I only drive the gas hog dakota on occasion when I NEED TO USE IT. I don't just waste 3 times the amount of gas as my neon for the fun of it. I'm doing my part, now everyone else can step up too.
I have never seen a neon get 42 to 57MPG...

I get 23 with my truck, so by your math you get 69MPG. my moms preius doesnt even average 69MPG, she averages 62...

I would double check my calculations on the 23 mpg. Next time you fill up, reset the odometer. Run through the tank. Fill up again and read how much gas you just put in. Then divide your mileage by that gas quantity. You will get an accurate mpg figure. You may get 23 mpg for a minute or 2 while driving, but you will not average 23 mpg. Not on the highway and not in town. And especially not over an entire tank of gas. Best I've ever gotten is 19-20 mpg(per tank). CC V6 Auto Highway for 120 milesand very light on the throttle for 3.5 days. That's roughly what it takes me to burn a full tank of gas.

Ok first off I understand the CANADIAN prices are higher per gallon....but you also don't pay what we do for health care. There has to be a break SOMEWHERE.
Now as far as the complaining goes.....I also have a minivan (2 kids plus babysit and need the third row) That thing chugs gas almost as bad as the truck!!!!! If I could fit my family and the children I babysit for (since I need to drive my son to school while watching the others)SAFELY into an economy car I would!!!! Unfortunantly I can't.

My base 3.55 sohc got 42-43 highway regularly without trying. Check out neons. org lots of 1st gen neons on there getting 40+ mpg. Right mix of mods/trans/driving makes it happen.

article on five ways to quickly find cheap gasoline:

http://www.lifeclever.com/5-ways-to-...ind-cheap-gas/

in particular this cell phone trick:
----
Tracking prices on the computer is nice, but it’s way more convenient to get prices when you’re actually on the go.

If you’ve got a mobile phone, this is easy.
411Sync has a myriad of SMS text services.
Among them is a cheap gas search. Here’s how to use it: [ol][*]Text the word “gas†followed by a 5-digit zip code.[*]Send it to 415-676-8397 or sms@411sync.com.[/ol] In a few seconds, you’ll get a response with a list of gas prices. GasBuddy and MobGas also has their own SMS text messaging but doesn’t offer phone numbers to send to, only email addresses. If your phone supports texting to an email address, send your zipcode to these addresses to get prices:
sms@mobgas.com
gas@gasbuddy.com
gas@fuelgo.com
===
my cell phone does allow sending text messages to @ email addresses and the gas buddy one above worked and was quick.

The sync411 service using just numbers did not work for me on all zip codes tried but it did work...a little slower than gas buddy.

Note that some of the services just require the zip code be put in the body of the message, but the sync411 requires gas and then the zip code.

I use to have a Neon before this... 2003... SXT... ATX with a cold air intake, I was easily getting 42 - 43 mpg hand figured at 65mph.

Someone remind me whyI chose to get rid of it........
