I hear the clicking noise in my D (manufactured 04/12). Almost sounds similar to the A/C compressor engaging/disengaging, but it is not. I will add this to my running list of issues for dealer to fix on the next visit (pending A/C remote fix announcement):
  1. Clunk from left rear (visit #2)
  2. A/C does not work using remote start
  3. Solenoid clicking noise
But still love the truck!!

Hey 12HemiR/T

Please keep us posted if you go to the dealer soon and find out what the click is.

Hi,

I visited the dealership today for the 1st service and had them listen to the clicking noise.
The mechanic said it's normal and it's coming from the gearbox. He checked and there is a bulletin issued on Aug 2nd, 2012 which describes a fix for " harsh shift from Drive to Neutral". He thinks it might be related also to this noise.

The reason it's not in all cars: it all depends which factory the gearbox came from!

Hope this helps, if you guys find more info, please let us know...

I also have the "clicking noise", but sounds like a bushing issue. I don't have adaptive cruise, I know its not AC. And I don't have 4wd(not CV shafts). It doesn't appear break related since it doesn't change with or without the breaks applied(most break related noises change when you apply or don't apply the breaks)

What solenoid would be clicking?

Its really annoying. I can reproduce it, over and over again. Its at speeds lees than 10 MPH with the radio really quiet(lol)

FWIW I have a 2012 Crew Lux w/20" wheels

Hey Chris,

Yes this is the one the dealer told me about. I did a test yesterday: while the D. is at stand still, shift from D to N and you'll hear the same clicking noise at the beginning of the shift. I am hoping that changing that plate will get rid of the noise.

Hey dwolson2,

It "appears" it it something inside the gear that makes this noise and requires changing a plate. I have the same D. you have : crew lux with 20 inch wheels. Your symptoms are exactly like mine.

I'll let you know guys once the dealer applies the change to my D. It'll be probably a while as I'll be away travelling. If you guys get it done 1st, let us know.

G,

If you or anyone else on here has this TSB performed and it corrects the issue, post it up on here so others will be aware of the possible fix for a similar condition. Thanks...
