The time it happened to mine, it was certainly not a wisp. I thought I had traded my Durango in for an 88 Olds. It startled the crap out of me. Spyhunter style. But then it cleared out and it was fine. I've actually shot video after similar trips to see if I can get it to do it again.

And the idea that it's expected is silly. No 45k (or any new) car should do that.

 

I have video of mine smoking mult. times. Will post on utube for all to see. Maybe Chrysler will find a fix faster if all of us post your new trucks smoking.
