In days of old, if the sunroof leaked you got water in your car. This was an all too familiar problem for all makes and models. They then finally had the realization that you can't keep water from getting into a hole in the roof. Then the bright idea of a drainage system was introduced, and now all sunroofs have it. Your sunroof is actually designed to leak (or not designed to prevent leaks), and the drainage system is designed to channel that water away. The only significant problems now are when the drains get clogged. If you use your sunroof a lot and get any debris in there, you may experience this. It's unfortunate that they messed with your headliner, because usually the drain is easily accessible from the sunroof opening.

Default 2012 r/t

I have a 2012 R/T with no sun roof and it is leaking in the same area. Does not leak always, a few drips from the sun glass holder. Any thoughts?

I thought my issue had been resolved, but after some heavy rains last week it happened again. I'm going to give the dealer and earful next week.

cedarmtn,

Have you had the vehicle looked at by a Dodge dealer? If you are unable to find where the problem is coming from I would recommend having the vehicle diagnosed by a Dodge dealer. If you need additional assistance feel free to contact myself or my US counterpart Chris, DodgeCares. You can also contact the Customer Care Department, numbers below.

Had the same issue when the truck was brand new, probably less than 1,000 miles. The dealer reproduced it with a hose and said it was the sunroof out adjustment. Whatever they did, it fixed it. At 12,000 miles now, no further issues.

Got the Durango back today from the dealership. Turns out it wasn't because of the sunroof. Apparently from the factory they did a crappy job, and the tech found a 'lack of silicone present' at the top-middle of the windshield seal. They re-installed it and found no further leaks.

We'll see, hope that was it...

Default Water Leak

I'm still dealing with this water leak, The 2012 Durango has NO sun roof and NO roof racks. I've went to three different dealers neither could reproduce the leak. I have pictures and video of the leak. I've opened two complaints with Dodgecares but have had no luck having the leak fixed. I can't count how many days I've been without the durango. The last dealer finally did something by replacing the windshield but the leak is still there. I'm on the brink of calling the lemon law attornies. Dodge says they carebut my car still sits at the dealer for another week again. Any thoughts dodgecares.

Suggest they look at the area I mentioned in the post above your comment, that fixed my issue which sounds similar. I've had no more leaks since then.
