Sounds like they don't know what they are talking about, as DodgeCares noted above " Estimated availability of software update is 08/13/2012."
So hopefully we can get this fixed in the next couple weeks.

Thats a dealer for you.. they think they know it, but nope.. Who in their right mind would make a remote start that doesnt work with any climate..

Kind of like when i bought my d i knew more about them than the salesmen at 3 different dealers from just doing an hour worth of research on the net..

Same here. Went to Sansone first, who's one of the largest dealers in my area, and the salesman didn't know a damn thing about them. Completely turned me off from buying there. He didn't even know they came AWD or that they came with a 2nd row bench seat instead of the captains chairs. Bought from another dealer!

Also, this topic should be stickied so it will be easy to find once DodgeCares reports back that the update is released.

Agreed ↑. The climate control works great on our WK2 overland, so imagine the disappointment when we got in our durango after remote starting for 15 min and it was blowing warm air. I cant wait for this patch.

On a side note - the jeep has a sensor that detects the outside temp, if it's cold it turns on the heat and heated seats, even if the climate controls were left off during previous use of the car. Same for hot weather, when remote started it will automatically kick on the ac at full blast. Anyone know if this will be the same on the durango?

Fun,

These are the only auto functions per the owners manual.

Remote Start Comfort Systems — If Equipped

When remote start is activated, the heated steering
wheel, and driver heated seat features will automatically
turn on in cold weather. In warm weather, the driver
vented seat feature will automatically turn on when the
remote start is activated. These features will stay on
through the duration of remote start or until the ignition
switch is turned to the ON/RUN position.
The Remote Start Comfort System can be activated and
deactivated through the Electronic Vehicle Information
Center (EVIC). For more information on Remote Start
Comfort System operation refer to “Electronic Vehicle
Information Center (EVIC)/Customer-Programmable
Features (SETUP)” in “Understanding Your Instrument
Panel”.

Here's what's really strange. I live in Florida, it's hot every day, so I rely on the remote start daily to cool the car down at work, or in my driveway. On my 2012 Citadel, the A/C used to come on Remote start for about the first month I had the vehicle. One day, suddenly, it stopped working, and I immediately noticed it (getting into a hot car). The Climate system is always set to "AUTO" in my vehicle. I double checked and the EVIC setting is set OK as it should be.

This is a must have feature for me, or I would not have bought this truck. My 2007 Grand Cherokee had this feature for cripes sake. Why would Chrysler do away with it in 2012? I think they haven't, and its a bug. Because like I said, it used to work on my D when it first arrived from the factory.

My two cents.

Gibson,

I do not know who you are responding to or what feature you are talking about that was done away with?

If you have climate control and it is set to auto, yes it should come on and if it does not there is a problem, hopefully the fix mentioned above will cure the issue when it comes out.

Hey Chris,

Well I guess what you posted about what the manual states, kind of is misleading to those who have the problem. It does not say the A/C will turn on in that paragraph in the manual you posted. It says the seat fans will turn on, but does not mention A/C.

Sorry to jump the gun, I just want others to know who read this that indeed this was a feature that should work. The clip from the manual you posted kind of leaves that part out (besides heated and cooled seats). Because we have other posters here who have the issue and their dealership is telling them auto-start and A/C is not a feature. That's frustrating to me.

I know how that feels and I got burned on my last Chrysler purchase (an 07 GC SRT8) that developed bad vibrations at highway speeds, and Chrysler would not address, only blame tires. Turns out it was lower control arms, and a LOT of owners were affected. I lost two years of a good highway ride waiting for the engineers to address the issue, tried three sets of tires, and 15+ visits to the dealer. They never did, and the community had to find the problem themselves, and we eventually did by trial and error of replacing parts over almost two years. The techs and even a Chrysler engineer rode in my vehicle, and when they felt the vibrations in the wheel, they replied "that's the way Cherokees are". Bull crap - the srt8 was solid as a stock car off the lot brand new. It was extremely frustrating. While waiting for them to diagnose and fix, lemon expired for me and I got screwed. Sorry for ranting and going off topic a bit, but that's the facts jack!

But hey if they've acknowledged the A/C problem officially and a fix is coming, I'm looking forward to it. But why is it taking so long? Mines been broke for months! Others even longer.
