Default Lockpick V5 Installed in Citadel

Just installed the Lockpick V5, thanks for the instructions on the site. It was really easy.

Thinks to note:
  • Great advice to pull the top of the front bracket off squarely. I could see how this would break easily
  • There is a tonne of room if you bring ALL the lockpick cables down behind the head unit and they pop out behind the AC controls
  • I taped all the exposed switches and RCA jacks that I did not use just so nothing could short out
  • I found that you can route the AV Input and USB cable through a small opening above the glove box which makes this install REALLY neat. I also found that there is a slot for the vehicle manuals imediately above the glovebox so you can slot your iPad in there!!
  • The sound quality of the AV input is terrible. It seems to work with movies, but music sounds like a bad radio station. I think it may have to do with the AV out volume which you cannot change on an ipod
  • I had no issue with degraded rear view (factory) camera picture.
  • One diaspointing factor is that the AV in on the lockpick only displays video on the front monitor and not on the rear (Factory) monitor...

Here are my pics:

Magnaflow and Lexani's coming next week!!!

I have the CHR550, it came with a separate AV cable that plugs into the lockpick and then you add an extension AV cable to it and run it back to the AV inputs behind the center console to get video to the back screen. There's also an AUX mode in the lockpick menu that activate's it.

Just an FYI
I was having trouble with my V5 lockpick last week (The radio kept turning on and off). I don't know what caused it, the lockpick worked great for a month, and then started acting up. After contacting Coastal Tech, they have a new firmware update for the V5. It is version 1.8. After reflashing the lockpick, everything has worked great.

Started having same problem, where headunit would turn on and off, almost blinking every few seconds, really annoying. Flashed lockpick with firmware 2.2 last night and its fixed. Just another FYI for anyone having similar problems in future. Flashing was real easy as I have the usb cable always plugged into lockpick and the connector hidden under trim by pass side center console, download software, plug in usb, follow prompts , done.

I've been considering a Lockpick, but I now see the updaters are Windows only. They should make it web-based so it's platform neutral. Until then, or until they support OSX, I'm out.
