adding oem entertainment system
I am picky about it as well having owned an audio/video shop for 7 years in the early 2000's and having a bmw show car with 16 monitors ranging in size from 2" - 15". My other concern would be what are they using to pipe in the audio?
Not sure exactly will find out. I haven't seen or anything yet. I was told it was an Audiovox from the person installing it. I will know more tomorrow. If I dont like it they will look for a new Durango before I sign any papers.
Yeah that was my thought when the guy told me the brand. For $995 it better be a different brand. I use to install audio/video here and there not a pro at all but know what to look for. I was also told this is covered under warranty not sure how long or what. Someone has explaining to do.
Gotcha bro... not trying to kill your buzz for getting your new rig just make sure your either getting what you were promised or paying a price in accordance with what your getting..Good luck!
I thought of something. The same place also is installing weather tech mats in the front and second row. I will have to see if the 995 includes those. Cause I got like 995 in extras that are being installed. Those mats were also being installed by the same place.
Good to know... Yeah I had trouble using a DVD THX calibration disc because the colors/patterns I was trying to calibrate I couldn't see or make disappear on the rear screen. Really ticked me off.
So we finally got our Durango today. The dvd system is an Audiovox unfortunately. How ever the picture quality is really nice. Looks just like a factory one without the ac controls on the front. So basically they just needed to run a remote wire and power wire to install this. The dvds are put in the dvd system itself not in the durangos radio. We can have it go through the vehicles speakers if we turn the station on FM 88.1 and we can hear it in the car. But we can listen to the radio while the kids listen to the dvd system on their wireless headphones. It works great and even has a light on it. After further inspection it was only a couple hundred dollars for it and to be installed. The rest was for other things light weather tech mats and undercoat spray. Drove 120 miles today and only used 1/4 tank of fuel. So the car as of now has 180 miles on it. I am pleased and I will get pics soon. Any questions feel free to ask also the dvd system came with a remote.

That's awesome

That's a walmart brand electronics. I'm not trying to make you feel bad, I just want you to be aware of what kind of value you're getting and that they misled you by telling you were getting OEM.
