Ive see the hypertech interceptor like stuff come and go....mostly to the trash. Theres gonna be bugs with diablos, hypertechs etc....just as there are bugs in durnagos, grand cherokees or a Lexus. Its all man made and not perfect. But to set by and allow enthusiasts friends to buy this useless snake oil harness is not in my dna.
So, you'd consider Edge products "Snake Oil" to diesel trucks?

Not my first go around either. I don't need or want my MDS disengaged. I can get codes pulled for free at AZ .3 miles from my house. The interceptor improves gas mileage. As far as monitoring vitals. This is not a turbo car. My cai/hypertech stock D doesn't need to be monitored past oil pressure, water temp and maybe trans temp. These are all provided by the stock info display.

man I am really torn. I found a hypertech on ebay used for 185, and thats gone. Found a trinity for 143 with a broken cable, beat out in the last 3 seconds. I don't know which way I should go.
Interceptor- no choice on a "economy tune" and possibly the computer will adapt to the changes made by it.

Trinity- Higher price and could/will void the warranty......ugh!!!!!!!

wow.....way to nitpick a post. was being general.....no idea about edge on diesels....we're talking ,mopars here. Not everyone is you and the handheld tuners give a variety of things that this wire setup doesnt and never will. Some people like to monitor different things...even on a stock setup...knock, spark, intake temp etc etc. All of that can be monitored with most handhelds. Hypertech even admits that the interceptor was made as a bridge to get their handheld developed. To me that says its not something to use on a perm. basis. Also...it provides more hp and tq but saves on gas by tricking the pcm.....BS BS BS! Please explain to me HOW tricking the PCM with false readings...gaining hp/tq and throttle response...but saves on fuel. BS!

well lets see a stock durango pulls 245 rwhp and i pulled 310 rwhp. I should of did pulls without hypertech installed. Since installing hypertech my MPG has gone from 14 to 16 mpg and I think I drive a little harder now too. But I did an autocross one day without it and next day on same course with installed took 2 seconds off within a few runs on track. From 34s to 32s and by the end of event hit low 31s. To compare quickest vehicle was in the high 28s being a suspension companys promo vehicle and I am in an SUV with stock suspension. Everyone has there flavor but I am completely satified with hypertech unit and plan to continue using it. And in every way I have pushed hypertech it has proven effective. Doubt it if you want but as other have stated, full maps arent really needed without forced induction. Build your vehicle to the beat of your drum and enjoy it.
