Tuning a '12, Which one to get?
This isn't a JET chip. The Hypertech unit actually works. I've seen increased response, increased acceleration, and better gas mileage. Diablo makes good stuff, and I've used them on one of my chargers. It worked great. One reason I got the Hypertech is because at the time, Diablo didn't have all the bugs worked out. I had not heard anything negative about the Hypertech so I figured I would try it and sell it if I didn't like it. Well I'm keeping it, because I'm very satisfied with it. If down the road I decide to do some serious mods I'll switch to Diablo. Both make good products and it just depends what you are looking for as to why you would get one over the other. Not sure why people who haven't tried a product get so upset when someone else does.
The Trinity for the Durango definitely has bugs and I'm surprised they are still there at this point but realistically the Durango is not at the top of their list for vehicles to fix. I honestly am not holding my breath for any fixes as I've notice Diablo has the tendency to move on and let the chips fall where they may if too much work is involved in fixing something for a small market share.
On the plus side it does do a lot more than a hypertech and if you buy a used one you can get one at the same price.

well lets see a stock durango pulls 245 rwhp and i pulled 310 rwhp. I should of did pulls without hypertech installed. Since installing hypertech my MPG has gone from 14 to 16 mpg and I think I drive a little harder now too. But I did an autocross one day without it and next day on same course with installed took 2 seconds off within a few runs on track. From 34s to 32s and by the end of event hit low 31s. To compare quickest vehicle was in the high 28s being a suspension companys promo vehicle and I am in an SUV with stock suspension. Everyone has there flavor but I am completely satified with hypertech unit and plan to continue using it. And in every way I have pushed hypertech it has proven effective. Doubt it if you want but as other have stated, full maps arent really needed without forced induction. Build your vehicle to the beat of your drum and enjoy it.

And how are you measuring MPG? Via EVIC? As for the auto cross, that's definitely flawed as it was two different days. And since when aren't full tables needed? Again, I'd love to see the Hypertech adjust for a single mod like a full exhaust and compare that to a REAL tune.
Your dyno pulls were clearly odd at best. It sounded like there were nothing but problems on all your pulls. Not to mention, Dynojets are accurate on the moon; far from real world.

I also have K&N intake, Magnaflow Exhaust, and 80mm TB. Say what you want but I havent seen a DS equiped durango show any numbers. Sure you might get a little more hp out of DS but if youre that focused on HP you shouldnt of gotten a 7k+ lb vehicle. To me it seems like someone has no life so they argue on a forum while they sit in there moms basement naked eating cheetos on a bean bag chair. Say what you want but I dont regret running the hypertech unit and feel it does what I was looking to do.

The dyno math doesn't work though. 245 rwhp stock (with 360 crank HP) would mean a 32% driveline loss. Typically its around 15-18% on modern cars with automatics.
18% driveline loss on a 360 crank HP should give you 295 HP at the wheels stock.
Did you dyno 245 rwhp or did you pull that from the web somewhere?
Also if you are claiming a gain of 55 rwhp, assuming a 32 percent drivetrain loss, you are saying you gained 73 crank horsepower (433 horsepower total) from tune, catback, throttle body and K&N.

I haven't purchased a tune yet but simply seeing the positive results vs.the ohhh my dash light is on, ohhh that feature isn't working or the "we will work the bugs out" speech that diablo is slinging on a $500 product controlling a $10k power train is a lil bogus IMO. I get why your pushing the diablo Scott in regards to them being a sponsor on your forum, their track record as a tuner and the hypertech units limitations but bottom line in this regard is you have never used either on a 3g Durango...to which I say wow...just wow!

Dynojets read a little higher than Mustang Dynos, but that doesn't mean a Dynojet can't be used to accurately tell you how much your hp has increased between mods. Most of the best performance shops in the country have Dynojets.
I've got an e-mail out to a friend who owns a dyno. If I can, I'd like to get 3 pulls with the hypertech followed by 3 pulls without it, so some real world numbers can be posted here. Back to back...same day...equal cool down time. I don't care if it ends up underperforming or overperforming. At least we'll have actual proven numbers for comparison sake.
