We recently purchased a 2013 Durango SXT with the 3.6. I wanted a '14 with the 8 speed but needed a vehicle and did not want to wait. I'm pleased with the MPG we are getting. In everyday driving it gets 21-22 and on a recent 1200 mile road trip it got 25. Hopefully it will get a little better when it gets a few more miles on it, currently has 2500.

Congrats on the new Durango and welcome to the forum.

The '13 SXT is everything I expected it to be. I has no issues, is smooth and quiet. Many people like to slam Chrysler products. As a field rep(retired) for Chrysler, I had 50+ new vehicles in 29 years and can count on one hand, the number of times I took one to the shop for anything other than an oil change. I have had numerous personal Chrysler products that gave 100k plus of trouble free service. I traded a '98 Grand Cherokee with 193k for the Durango. It was still very capable of reliable road trips. I firmly believe that good maintenance is the key to long vehicle life. In addition to oil changes(5k), my vehicles get transmission and differential service(50k), brake and ps fluid changes(turkey baster method, every other oil change), coolant change
(5yr), air filter(25k) and timing belt(100k).

When I went to look at my Durango, I was going to look at a Black with the 3.6 hoping to get a good deal better mileage than the LR3 I was looking to get out of.
Ended up getting a better deal on a demo Mineral Grey with a Hemi. I occasionally tow a boat and trailer so I'm glad I got the bigger motor. Downside is mileage isn't as good as the LR3 but I've got 60 more hp so that's to be expected. Luckily, I live in a pretty rural area so I'm getting 16.6 so far with local driving. Hit 18.6 overall on a 6 hour trip recently - didn't reset gauge, the 16.6 went up to 18.6 during trip. Now that I'm home among the stop lights, back down to 16.6. Not bad overall IMO. 22 to 23 would be nice though. lol
