This is not true. The US models and the export models are different. The under-hood wiring is different.
There is a relay box under the hood behind the fuse box where the relays in export models are present. In US models not only are the relays not in the box, but the wiring into that box where the relays would plug in, is NOT there either.

If there are empty positions, then it's likely not doable. Can you take a picture?

In the past on several models, you could go in and change the Country Code to Canada and it would enable them. But, you couldn't disable the DRLs if you switched it back to US. I haven't had the guts to try it on a newer model yet as I don't relish the thought of buying someone a new BCM It doesn't make sense to me that EVERY one is not built with the option to enable at least.

anyone who wants DRL's I can walk you thru it...
we just need to build a simple relay with $10 - $20 in parts and a couple hand tools all from radio shack
or can do quick and dirty - which I dont recommend so I wont say how lol
either way, when ignition turns on so do the headlights..
