Is the 2013 (3rd Gen) Crew w/ 6 speaker system (AMPLIFIED)?
I'm just curious if there's an amplifier with the 6 speaker stock system in my 2013 Durango Crew? It doesn't say there's an amplifier on the sticker but the system sounds louder then the stock "Alpine" system in my 2010 Ram R/T was and that had a stock amp behind the driver's side dash. This system sounds reasonably loud so I was curious if there was an amp?
@woblik,
When I was looking at Durango's I checked out some R/T's and saw in the back where a spare tire normally goes that ALPINE SUB encasing. Mine does not have the Alpine Sub. From my understanding that Alpine sub is with the 9 speaker amplified system. I don't have the 9 speaker, but rather the 6 speaker system. Because it was much louder then most stock systems I have heard I was curious if there is an amp in the 6 speaker setup?

thanks for the reply guys. I never listened to or heard the system in the R/T's or Durango's that have that 9 speaker amplified system so i'm glad to know i'm not missing anything. I was surprised at how loud and good the 6 speaker system was and was sure here was an amp somewhere. Sounds like there isn't. I'm definitely enjoying the system. Thanks for the replies.

This is interesting...I spoke to a guy that's been doing installs for many years and he pulled up a schematic that shows all 2013 Durango's have an independent amp. The schematic showed it was located in the quarter panel, passenger side cargo area behind the plastic trim. Can anyone else confirm this?
