Default AFE Pro Dry S CAI installed

The AFE came in today from AWD Motorsports $275 at my door. Instructions were pretty good but fitting the box with the factory scoop on was a little tough, nothing broke but its a tight fit. I wish they would have left an extra 1" on the AIT sensor wire. The seal to the hood perfect scared me a bit but after some careful test closing I determined there was enough room. If anyone knows how the plug comes off the other sensor in the last picture please let me know, I think its a water temp sensor? it sure would fit better if the wire looped around the main harness the other way. I was able to squeeze it and slide the red clip off a little but that sucker wont come off the sensor. Took it out for a test ride and it was a bit loud when the motor was cold but not over my sound level limit. Seat of the pants dyno says it makes a difference and as we all know some times these fell like a bear and other times we are just in the wrong gear. One long pull from about 15 mph the tach hit about 4k an it truly felt like a old 4 barrel kicking in it pulled so strong to redline I was impressed. After a few miles the intake is a little louder but not unruly. the sound is a much better tone than the K&N on my 4.7.

I did think the tube was plastic but its a cast aluminum. Never figured that. The fit of the tube to the airbox is so much better that the Mopar one that just stick through the whole with no flange.

I've got mine sitting in a box in my garage, just waiting to get installed. Once I'm a bit more mobile after recovering from this knee replacement, first thing I'm doing is installing the AFE.

Ok, I had ordered a volant back on sept 13th. Still has not shipped and I have looked into these CAI a little more for the v8's since. I have also re done my engine cover. SO I am thinking this intake with the black and silver would look a lot better then the volant. Plus you get the see the filter and hear a little sucking sound. So what do you guys think cancel the volant and order the aFe with Pro Dry S filter? Here are the pics of the engine cover installed.
