Vehicle Entertainment system VES questions
Hello Gents and Chicks (no offense intended for those ladies out there).
I will soon post my stuff in the Roll Call, but I have a question about the rear entertainment system.
When my kids using the headset for the VES and are watching a movie in the back of the truck, can I still listen to music? I'd hate to buy the damn things and then live in silence while on a long trip. So if that's the case then I will just listen to the movie. Or buy a MyGIG and well listen to the movie...lol.
Thanks in advance.

I have the LOCKPICK V5 and love it, some guys have the CHR550 too(about the same except also has apple ipod connector built in. I have an av converter that converts av to hdmi, then hdmi to my Galaxy S3, I can have anything I do on my phone on the screen, loaded movies, netflix, you name it. Also has all the features enabled to work with in motion, NAV, play DVD from front etc. Plenty of talk in here on the lockpick, just search for it.

Still need to buy the lockpick or NU-CHY2. Really want those capabilities!
And yes, the rear VES works independent from the front. On the rear VES the rear passengers can watch a DVD, listen to AM, FM, Sirius radio or watch sirius TV channels. I think there are only a few TV channels available (cartoon channels and things for kids mostly). Also, if you have two rear passengers, the rear screen splits and allows each rear passenger to listen to two different things and it goes to each headset. It really is cool! Just wish the resolution was a little better.

I did it when i was getting the DVD set up for the first time on our last beach trip. I can't recall how it happened but it is something on the remote. I think you just hit the menu button on the remote while the VES is down and the screen splits and gives options for each side. The remote and headphones have a channel selector on them (Channel 1 or Channel 2) and you can put the remote in channel one (the left side passenger) and they can choose what they want to watch then put the remote in channel two (the right side passenger) and they can choose what they want. Then just put the channel selector on each set of headphones to the corrosponding channel each kid is watching and there you go. They are listening to two different things!
I actually sat in the back sit on the way back home from the beach and let my wife drive and put my mother in law in the other front set, put my four year old back in the third row and my one year old in the other second row captain chair beside me and I watched movies with them! Loved it!
I do wish there was a way to plug in a better set of headphones somewhere though. I have a set of Bose headphones that are much more comfortable and sound 10 times better than the ones that come with the Durango, but there would be no way to adjust volume.
